Waukesha County Land Conservancy (WCLC) has protected over 3,100 acres of the most environmentally significant land and water in Waukesha County for generations to come. Brands like Okayest Hunter's support and commitment to land conservation have enabled WCLC to get where they are today.
Our 1% [of gross sales] donation certified via 2% For Conservation enables WCLC to:
Protect additional acreage across Waukesha County
Steward natural areas to ensure essential plant communities and wildlife species can thrive and expand
Restore WCLC's preserves, ensuring the long-term health of our environment for future generations to enjoy
Increase accessibility to a number of their preserves and expand capacity to engage with the community for educational and public health initiatives
My family and I have a tradition of cutting our Christmas tree yearly. When we learned WCLC was putting on a Christmas tree event, it was a no-brainer. We donated to the cause and had a blast walking the property to find the perfect tree for Christmas.
I've brought my kids with me to volunteer at WCLC, so it was cool to have them help pick the tree on one of their properties. Aside from hunting some of their properties available for hunting, I also visit them in the spring for morel mushroom foraging and shed hunting with my family and our dogs.
We likely wouldn't be nearly involved if it wasn't for 2% For Conservation. As a small business, we evaluated a number of organizations to donate to, and we wanted to donate to one we felt could make an impact in our local community. As we grow we hope to identify other important causes and organizations to donate to that have a wider impact since our customers span the entire US.
