Referral Program

Our Referral Program: How It Works

The Fish & Wildlife Volunteers Referral Program is a win-win initiative that encourages individuals and businesses to help expand our business membership network.

Participating in the Fish & Wildlife Volunteers Referral Program is more than just an opportunity to earn rewards; by actively contributing to the growth of our business membership, you are helping to channel vital funding to boots-on-the-ground conservation efforts, making a real and positive impact on the environment.

HOW TO REFER A BUSINESS:

  • Step 1: Send us a note with the contact information for a point of contact at the business you would like to refer.

  • Step 2: Make sure to let them know we will be reaching out to them!

  • Step 3: Look for our email to redeem your perks once the business has been added to the website!

Pretty simple!

Referral Perks for Current Business Members:

The first three business members to be certified with us were all direct competitors of each other.

Referring another business, even within your field, means a lighter lift for us all in the fight for wildlife. As a current Fish & Wildlife Volunteers certified business, your referral perk goes where you will get the most use: your bank account.

For every business your business refers in a calendar year, we will remove the amount of their dues from yours for that year.

You could end up paying no dues if the business is the same size or larger than yours! The same is true if you refer more than one business in a year — it stacks up to the total dues you would have paid.

As an example: In 2022, the owner of one of our certified SMBs referred her fiancé to have his business become certified. Because their businesses were in the same dues bracket, she paid no dues for 2022.

Helping us grow our membership base is common sense — it helps our business members, our programming capacity, and the world’s embattled ecosystems.

Conservation is not a competition!

If you have any questions about the program, or are ready to refer a business, reach out any time!

FINE PRINT:

  • Owners and C-Level employees of businesses do not receive perks for referring their own business.

  • No cash will be exchanged between us and the referrer.

  • We will buy all memberships directly from the conservation groups on behalf of the referrer.

  • We will only purchase perks for the referrer once the business has been added to our website AND has paid their dues for the year.

  • Fish & Wildlife Volunteers and our parent organization of 2% for Conservation reserves the right to void a referral perk if the referrer does so in bad faith, the definition of 'bad faith' being up to the discretion of our team members. (IE: referring a business about to undergo criminal investigation; attempts to make the business look more favorable; etc.)

  • We reserve the right to define what a "conservation group" is, as it aligns with our Mission Statement and the four pillars of conservation we recognize: Boots-on-the-Ground Conservation, Conservation Education, Conservation Advocacy, Conservation Access.
