1st Place - The Dam That Never Was
Randy Newberg & The Fresh Tracks TV Crew
"The Yellowstone river is the longest un-dammed river in the lower 48. Had it not been for the foresight of key individuals, the spectacular Paradise valley, would be under water and the downstream communities would dry like the river itself. Follow fisheries biologist, Mike Duncan, as he travels the length of the river meeting with Jim Posewitz, a key advocate who helped stop the dam. Mike explores the recreational opportunities while showing how much we would have lost had the Allenspur dam been built.”
2nd Place - Deer 139
Monteith Shop, Haub School of Environment & Natural Resources of the University of Wyoming
"Join biologist Sam Dwinnell and a team of female adventurers as they follow deer 139’s migration trail for 85 miles from her winter range in the sagebrush steppe , up into and over the Wyoming Range, across the Greys River, to an alpine cirque in the Salt River Range, to see first-hand this long, complex journey. The team carried skis, pack rafts, food, and camera equipment to film the expedition and bring viewers along for the adventure as they provide a look into an annual migration that until now, was largely unseen and unknown to the general public."
3rd Place - Northwoods Unleaded
The National Wildlife Federation with many conservation partners.
"Join conservationists from the National Wildlife Federation, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, Michigan United Conservation Clubs and the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation for a cast and blast in Michigan's Upper Peninsula using non-lead tackle to fish for northern pike and trout and non-lead ammunition to hunt for public land ruffed grouse, and learn about why using non-lead ammunition and tackle is important for non-game species like bald eagles and common loons."
